Can I add a battery to my Sungrow inverter?
If it's a Sungrow hybrid that's compatible with their current batteries, usually yes. If it's a solar-only Sungrow inverter, we'd either AC couple a battery alongside it or swap to a hybrid. We check your model before quoting. More in adding a battery to existing solar.
How much does a Sungrow battery cost in Adelaide?
We don't publish Sungrow prices because our 2026 jobs have mostly been GoodWe and Sigenergy. Across those, batteries added to existing solar were roughly $350 to $600 per usable kWh after rebates, incl GST. Ask us for a Sungrow quote and we'll show it next to the alternatives. Is it better to stick with Sungrow or switch brands?
If your Sungrow hybrid is in good shape and compatible, sticking with Sungrow is often simplest. If it's old, solar-only or out of warranty, it can be worth comparing a new GoodWe or Sigenergy hybrid. We'll quote both ways so you can see the difference.
Do Sungrow batteries get the federal rebate?
Eligible Sungrow batteries qualify for the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which we apply through STCs on your quote. The battery must be VPP-capable, but joining a VPP is optional. The rate steps down on 1 January 2027, and it's the install date that counts. Our rebate calculator shows how much you'll get.
Can a Sungrow battery charge from the free Solar Sharer hours?
If you choose a Solar Sharer plan, SA homes get free grid power from midday to 3pm, up to 24 kWh a day. When we commission the battery we can set it to top up in that window, which helps in winter or with a smaller array. Those plans often have higher daily and peak charges, so check the whole plan.
My Sungrow app shows no data. Is the system broken?
Usually not. Most of the time it's a changed router, a new wifi password or a weak signal at the inverter. Follow our Sungrow wifi guide. If the inverter screen shows faults or no power, book us in for a check.
What warranty comes with Sungrow?
Check the current manufacturer warranty for your specific model, as terms vary and change. We register it for you when we install. NG Elec's lifetime workmanship warranty covers our installation.
