AIKO solar panels installed in Adelaide.

AIKO panels are one of the main panels on our recent solar and battery jobs, mostly for their clean, all-black look on the roof. They suit Adelaide homes where looks matter or the roof is limited or split, and we pair them with Sigenergy, GoodWe or Sungrow inverters and batteries.

The short answer

AIKO is a solar panel maker, and AIKO's all-black panels give a clean, dark look on the roof. We design them into full systems on Adelaide roofs of all shapes, including smaller or split roofs. They can cost a bit more per panel than Jinko or Trina. NG Elec designs, installs and signs off the system.

Is this you?

Who AIKO panels suit

Your roof is small or split

We lay panels out across every usable roof face to fit the kW you need, which matters when you're charging a battery too.

You care how it looks

AIKO's all-black panels sit dark and uniform on the roof. Good for street-facing roofs and dark tiles or Colorbond.

You're adding a battery

A battery needs enough solar to fill it in winter. Getting more kW onto the roof helps it charge on short, cloudy Adelaide days.

You're replacing an old system

Older panels are often lower wattage than today's, so a replacement can lift the system size without needing more roof.

What we do

What we typically install with AIKO

We design AIKO panels into full systems, sized to your usage, roof and SA Power Networks export limit.

AIKO with a Sigenergy battery

In Hayborough (Aug 2026) we installed 18.3 kW of AIKO panels with 35 kWh of Sigenergy storage on three phase.

AIKO with a GoodWe battery

For homes that want plenty of storage for the money, we pair AIKO with a GoodWe hybrid and battery, single or three phase.

Roof layout and design

We lay the panels out across your roof faces, size the inverter to your phase and export limit, and allow for winter output.

Shade and optimisers

Where part of the roof gets shade, we look at Tigo optimisers so one shaded panel doesn't drag the rest down.

Old system removal

We remove and recycle old panels and inverters when we replace a system.

Rebates and paperwork

The solar STC rebate comes off the price on your quote, plus the battery rebate if you add one. We lodge the SA Power Networks paperwork and register the warranty.

How it works

From first call to switch-on

  1. Send a bill

Call 0425 322 552 or fill in the form with a recent bill. Tell us if your roof has more than one face or any shade.

  2. Design and quote

We lay out the panels, size the inverter and battery, and send a free itemised quote with rebates applied.

  3. Install

Licensed electricians fit the panels, inverter and any battery, and keep the site tidy.

  4. Commission and handover

We test the system, set up monitoring and, if you have a battery, the charging schedule for your plan.

Pricing

What affects the price

Panel brand is only one part of the price. Every quote is free and itemised, with rebates shown.

  • System size in kW and the number of panels
  • Panel choice: AIKO can cost a bit more per panel than other panels
  • Roof type, split roofs and two storeys
  • Inverter and battery brand and size
  • Single or three phase, and switchboard work
  • Removing an old system

FAQ

Questions people ask us.

How much does an AIKO solar system cost in Adelaide?

It depends on size and whether you add a battery. Across typical NG Elec jobs in 2026, solar only (5 to 6 kW) started from about $5,000, and solar with a battery from about $11,000, with most between $14,000 and $25,000, after rebates, incl GST. Hayborough, 18.3 kW of AIKO with 35 kWh Sigenergy on three phase, was about $28,700. Every quote is itemised and free.

Are AIKO panels worth paying more for?

If looks matter to you, often yes, because you get a clean, all-black finish. If you've got a big, simple roof and looks aren't a priority, Jinko or Trina panels can do the job for less. We'll quote both if you ask.

AIKO vs Jinko vs Trina: what's the difference?

All three are panels we install. AIKO is our pick when you want an all-black look. Jinko and Trina are solid panels that often cost less per kW. Check the output and warranty figures on each datasheet we send with your quote. The right one depends on your roof, budget and how much you need to fit.

Do AIKO panels work well in Adelaide's heat?

All panels lose some output on very hot days, and AIKO are no different. Check the temperature figures on the datasheet we send with your quote. In Adelaide a well-designed system makes about 5.8 kWh per kW per day in summer and about 2.4 in winter, so we size for winter if you have a battery.

How do AIKO panels work with the Solar Sharer free hours?

In SA, Solar Sharer plans give free grid power from midday to 3pm, up to 24 kWh a day, if you opt in. That's also when your panels make the most. If your roof only fits a small array, a battery can top up from the grid in that window on cloudy days. Those plans often have higher supply and peak rates, so compare the total cost.

What warranty do AIKO panels have?

Check the current AIKO product and performance warranty on the datasheet with your quote, as terms change between models. We register it for you. Our installation is covered by NG Elec's lifetime workmanship warranty.

Which battery goes best with AIKO panels?

Panels work with any of the inverters and batteries we install. Sigenergy suits large or three phase systems, GoodWe is usually the best value per kWh, and Sungrow suits homes already on a Sungrow hybrid. Our best battery guide compares them.
