GoodWe is the battery we install most often, and on our 2026 jobs it's usually the lowest cost per kWh of the brands we fit. Adding a GoodWe battery to existing solar has started from about $9,000 for 24 kWh usable, after rebates, incl GST, with every quote itemised and free.

GoodWe makes hybrid inverters, home batteries and EV chargers that work together on one system. On typical NG Elec jobs in 2026, a GoodWe battery added to existing solar cost roughly $350 to $470 per usable kWh after the rebate, incl GST. It suits homes that want plenty of storage for the money, on single or three phase.

Is this you?
Across our 2026 battery-only jobs, GoodWe came in lower per usable kWh than Sigenergy almost every time.
We've done it both ways: DC coupled with a new GoodWe hybrid in Cowandilla, and AC coupled alongside the existing inverter in Seacombe Heights.
GoodWe makes EV chargers that sit on the same system. In Seaford Rise we fitted a 32 kWh battery with a 7 kW GoodWe charger.
On solar-only jobs we can fit a battery-ready GoodWe hybrid, like the 5.8 kW system we did in Hackham, so adding a battery later is simpler.
What we do
Real accepted NG Elec GoodWe jobs from 2026, suburb and system only. Most GoodWe batteries we fit land between 16 and 32 kWh usable.
Marden, Cowandilla and Banksia Park each got 24 kWh. Happy Valley and Seacombe Heights got 32 kWh, and O'Halloran Hill went to 40 kWh with backup on three circuits.
Typical builds were 7 to 14 kW of solar with 16 to 32 kWh, like Hove (7.1 kW + 16 kWh), Broadview (10.4 kW + 24 kWh over three roof sections) and Woodcroft (14.25 kW + 32 kWh).
Onkaparinga Hills got 8.7 kW + 24 kWh on three phase with the hot water on a solar timer. A new build in Sellicks Beach got 11.55 kW + 32 kWh with a 22 kW GoodWe EV charger.
We install GoodWe chargers on their own or with a battery. A 7 kW single phase charger typically costs about $2,200 to $2,800 installed, incl GST. More on our EV charger installation page.
If an old inverter has died, an inverter replacement on our 2026 jobs typically ran about $1,800 to $2,200 incl GST, after which you can decide on a battery.

How it works
Call 0425 322 552 or fill in the form with a recent bill and details of your solar. Interval data helps us size it right.
We size the battery to your evening use, pick the right GoodWe inverter for your phase, check your board and send a free itemised quote.
Licensed electricians fit the inverter, battery and any EV charger, and wire the backup circuits you've chosen.
We test it, set the charging schedule (including the Solar Sharer window if you're on that plan) and show you the app.
Pricing
GoodWe's lower cost per kWh means bigger batteries are more affordable, but the rebate drops to 15% of the full rate above 28 kWh, so we show you where the value sits for your home. Every quote is free and itemised.
FAQ
On typical NG Elec jobs in 2026, a GoodWe battery added to existing solar started from about $9,000 for 24 kWh usable, after rebates, incl GST. Marden, 24 kWh with backup on 3 circuits, was about $10,300 after rebates, incl GST. Seacombe Heights, 32 kWh, three phase, whole-home backup, was about $11,300. Every quote is itemised and free.
Hove, 7.1 kW with 16 kWh, was about $12,100 after rebates, incl GST. Onkaparinga Hills, 8.7 kW with 24 kWh on three phase, was about $15,400. Woodcroft, 14.25 kW with 32 kWh and the old system removed, was about $20,600. See solar and battery prices for more.
On our jobs GoodWe has usually come in around $350 to $470 per usable kWh for battery-only installs (after rebates, incl GST), against roughly $500 to $600 for Sigenergy. Sigenergy's price reflects its stackable design and gateway. For most homes that just want plenty of storage, GoodWe is strong value. We'll happily quote both.
Eligible GoodWe batteries qualify for the Cheaper Home Batteries Program. We apply it through STCs on your quote, so there's nothing for you to claim. The full rate covers the first 14 kWh, then 60% to 28 kWh and 15% to 50 kWh. It's the install date that counts, and the next drop is 1 January 2027. Our rebate calculator shows how much you'll get.
Yes, if you're on a Solar Sharer plan. In SA the free window is midday to 3pm, capped at 24 kWh a day. When we commission the battery we can schedule it to charge from the grid in that window on cloudy days, then cover your evening peak. Compare total plan costs first, as supply and peak rates are often higher.
If it's set up for backup, yes. We've done both selected-circuit backup, like Marden's three circuits, and whole-home backup, like Cowandilla and Seacombe Heights. How much it can run at once depends on the inverter size, so we check your big loads before quoting.
Check the current manufacturer warranty on the datasheets we send with your quote, as terms differ between models and change over time. We register the warranty for you. Our installation is covered by NG Elec's lifetime workmanship warranty.
GoodWe is usually the best value per kWh. Sigenergy suits large, three phase or expandable systems. Tesla Powerwall suits people who want one well-known unit. Our best battery guide goes through the differences.
