Solar and off-grid in the Flinders Ranges.

Solar panels lose some output when they get very hot, and the Flinders gets very hot. We allow for summer heat in the design, leave airflow under the panels, and pick inverters and batteries rated for the temperatures they'll actually see, mounted out of the sun where we can.

Stations, shacks and remote homes up here are often fully off-grid. We size them for a run of cloudy winter days rather than a sunny average, and plan generator backup so you're not caught short. We're Selectronic accredited integrators, and we also build with Sigenergy and other brands.

Our crews travel up from Hackham, so every job is planned well ahead to keep trips to a minimum, with materials packed and checked before the crew leaves. Where the system has monitoring, the data can often help diagnose a problem before a trip. Dust builds up fast out here, so a clean now and then keeps output up.
